Medium Brown Stain On Red Oak Wood Floor

Wood Species:
Red Oak
Finish:
Waterborne Polyurethane
Color:
Medium Brown

Medium Brown is one of our favorite wood stains. It’s rich and dark enough to provide nice contrast, but light enough not to show footprints and housekeeping shortcomings too much. It provides nice grain color balance.

Beautiful color! Great work! I love Medium Brown, and am curious to know how it compared to Bona’s Jacobean stain or the Provincial stain (which seems to be closer to Early American). Any thoughts?

Thanks, Neil! Medium Brown is just a shade lighter compared to Jacobean. Provincial is a warm light-toned brown. Both can be a great choice if you don’t want to go too dark, but at the same time don’t like a natural wood color.

This looks amazing. What stain are you using here for the medium brown, bona or duraseal or is this a blend? Thanks!

This was a Bona Medium Brown stain.

Can you tell me the brand of water polyurethane type and number of coats? I would like to replicate these floors and live in VA. Wish I lived in Denver to have your company do it for me. Thanks

Thanks, Dana! It was top coated with 2 coats of Bona Traffic Satin finish.
